Recently, Youtube on its page Official Blog announced that they are developing a new product called Shorts which is meant to record short videos via their smartphone, you could say this product is also meant to be a rival to TikTok.
And as reported by the page Neowin, this project was first introduced in April, and five months later, the Beta version will be launched soon. Regarding this, the company also noted in its announcement that this is still an “early version of the product” and is now being gradually released in beta, so they can take the necessary feedback and further improve it. The beta version of the Shorts itself is currently available in India only.
Based on the information described, Videos on YouTube Shorts will be limited to 15 seconds in length or less, besides that there is also a multi-segment camera and editor for adding music, speed control, timer, and hands free recording.
To encourage content creators to upload videos to Shorts, YouTube has also moved the create ‘+’ icon to the bottom tab on Android making it easier for them to quickly access it. These changes have also been made live in India for now, although YouTube will now expand to iOS and other countries as well.
