If you’re looking for a great smartphone but don’t want to spend a lot of money, then you’ve come to the right place. We’ll cover the Design, Camera system, Battery life, and price to find the best phone for your money. But before we get into those things, let’s look at what we didn’t love about the Xiaomi 12S Ultra. Here’s what you can expect.

Design of Xiaomi 12S Ultra
The Xiaomi 12S Ultra will have a leather or ceramic back. The large camera block is located on the back panel, where it will be mounted instead of a secondary screen. It will come with a 1-inch Sony IMX989 sensor and a telephoto periscope zoom lens. This Xiaomi will also have Leica branding on the back panel. It will have an in-display fingerprint scanner and a dual-LED flash.
The rear of the Xiaomi Mi 12S Ultra has a unique personality, despite the absence of a rear screen. However, the front of the phone looks just like any other smartphone. A leak on Xiaomiui speculates that there will be two models – the normal one and the Ultra Enhanced. The selfie camera is also repositioned to the middle of the display, while the volume rocker is located on the right side.
Camera system
The Xiaomi 12S Ultra has a Leica Summicron 1:1.9-4.1/13-120 ASPH sensor, a 50.3-megapixel main camera, and a 48-megapixel ultra-wide and periscopic camera. It also has a 1/2-inch Sony IMX586 sensor. The camera system is one of the most impressive we’ve seen yet in a smartphone. And with 23K gold rim, it looks like the future is here.
Xiaomi has announced a new lineup of smartphones, which includes the 12S Ultra, Xiaomi Pro, and Xiaomi Mi 12. The new models all run MIUI 13 based on Android 12 and feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor. The Xiaomi 12S Ultra is equipped with a massive 50.3-megapixel Sony IMX989 sensor. Each of its pixels has a 1.6-um size, but thanks to pixel binning, those pixels are now 3.2-um in size. This should result in an almost-identical image to the original 50-megapixel camera.
Battery life
The Xiaomi 12S Ultra is a new flagship device that features a brand-new generation of lithium cobalt oxide batteries that provide higher power flow at lower temperatures. However, current lithium cobalt oxide batteries are notorious for pulverization of silicon particles, which leads to battery death after a short time. To improve the battery’s lifetime, Xiaomi will reduce the thickness of the cell by 1mm. Here are the key configuration parameters to look out for.
The Xiaomi 12S Ultra has excellent camera performance and long battery life on a single charge. The company has implemented a new battery management system, which borrows its concept from electric vehicles. This new software optimizes the battery’s performance, health, and safety. The battery lasts more than seven hours on a single charge with mixed usage, but video streaming will deplete the battery faster. We’ll look at its battery life over the next few days.
Price Xiaomi 12S Ultra
After the announcement of the 12S Pro and Dimensity edition, the 12S Ultra has been officially launched. Currently, the device is available for purchase in the home market, priced at either 5,999 Yuan or 6,499 Yuan, depending on the storage and RAM configuration. The phone comes in Classic Black or Verdant Green color variants, and has a leather back. The price will be based on local currency conversion.
As of this writing, this 12S Ultra price is around $890 in the US. However, the price will be much higher in China. According to Counterpoint Research, the base 8GB/256GB model will cost $516 to manufacture. That price doesn’t include marketing costs or other forms of labor. The company’s website doesn’t list the cost of other features or services. It also doesn’t include taxes.
